Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible (the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments) is the inspired Word of God. The Bible is inerrant and authoritative, binding on all people as God’s revelation to man. The Bible is the only infallible rule of faith for the church, and is mankind’s supreme authority in every sphere of life.

We believe in the Trinity. We believe in the biblical teaching that God exists in a triune nature- the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each Person is distinct; but, eternally exists as one divine essence.

We believe that Jesus Christ is both God and man in one person. Jesus is the Son of God, the prophesied Messiah/Christ, Who was a historical person, born of a virgin, died on a cross, and literally rose from the dread. Jesus is now at the right hand of God the Father in heaven.

We believe that Jesus Christ lived a sinless life and died as a substitutionary sacrifice for sins. He was raised from the dead and ascended into heaven.

We believe that all people are born sinners and stand condemned apart from repentance and faith in Christ.

We believe God graciously works in the hearts of his people faith and repentance in order to break the power of sin and give them new spiritual life.

We believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone. God justifies us by his grace, and our faith is the sole instrument that receives the grace of justification.

We believe that baptism is an ordinance of the church instituted by Christ Himself. Baptism can be done by immersion, pouring, or sprinkling. Baptism must be done in the name of the triune God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We deny that baptism is a means of justification.

We affirm that baptism is symbol/sign of the forgiveness of sins.

We receive the personal convictions of each member of the church to hold either to covenantal baptism or believer’s baptism. We practice both forms of baptism.

We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells all God’s people. The Holy Spirit equips and encourages every believer for ministry in the body, perseveres their faith, intercedes for them in prayer, and sanctifies them throughout their life.

We believe that Christ is coming again physically to gather God’s people to Himself and bring judgment on sinners.

We believe in the literal, eternal, conscious torment of those who die in their sins apart from faith in Christ.

We believe that the purpose of every person is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.
